The Woman’s Monthly – Comedy for everyone. Period

artBar, 37 Quebec Street, Upper Level, Guelph, Ontario

The Woman’s Monthly: Comedy for Everyone. Period.

Hosts: Sarah Boston and Mark Edwards Featuring: Jen Sakato, Renee Groux, and Jessica Besser-Rosenberg

Join us for the inaugural Woman’s Monthly comedy show this Mother’s Day Weekend (May 11th) at the ArtBar.

Women love comedy, but sometimes comedy doesn’t love women. We’ve worked hard to make a show where everyone feels welcome. This is a show (mostly) by women and (mostly) for women, both on and off stage.

Most comedy shows happen in gross basements, this is a night of above-ground laughs (literally and figuratively) for everyone and their mother. (Really, you can bring your mother.)

We’re proud to partner with the Guelph Arts Council for a memorable night of laughter.

Audience is limited to 100 tickets. Of these, 75 will be seated, and 25 standing room only, seating will be available on a first come-first served basis.

Yukon Gold Folk Club presents Corin Raymond

BIO "JUNO-nominated singer/storyteller Corin Raymond draws comparisons to John Prine… in his notebook, when he’s bored. Corin’s songs have been covered by The Strumbellas, Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer, The Good Lovelies, and Dustin Bentall – among other far-flung fellow-travellers and song-junkies. Corin’s fifth solo album, Dirty Mansions, was released in 2019. His latest storytelling show, BOOKMARKS, won “Storytelling/Spoken Word Favourite” at the 2022 Victoria Fringe. Raymond currently has no fixed-address and travels with his dog Reese.

“A hypnotic, literate collection of dark tall tales… Romantic, immediate, and narcotic.” – No Depression, on Corin’s 2016 album Hobo Jungle Fever Dreams

“Corin Raymond is a storyteller who by the end of the night you’ll have known your whole life.” – The Globe and Mail"
